Milan Gather

was born in Aachen in 1993 and grew up in Dortmund. He developed his first theater works as part of the directing workshop at Schauspielhaus Bochum and in the independent scene in Leipzig. From 2014 to 2018, he studied acting at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and joined the acting studio at the Staatstheater Stuttgart in the 2017/18 season. He then became a member of the ensemble at JES Stuttgart. There he wrote his first play, "Astronauten", which was invited to several festivals in 2020 and was awarded the Youth Play Prize at the Heidelberg Play Market together with the two other invited productions. In addition to other projects at JES, he will make his directorial debut in 2021 with his second play "OMA MONIKA - was?". In 2022, the play won the KinderStückePreis at the 47th Mülheim Theater Festival and 1st prize at the 25th Hessian Children's and Youth Theater Week KUSS. As a guest author, Milan Gather is part of several (international) author projects, including "Homebound - 20 Minidramas for New Formats". From the 2022/23 season, he will be working as a freelance author and director. His plays are published by Theaterstückverlag München.

In the 2023/2024 season, he will direct WENN WOLKEN WACHSEN at the HLTM.
